EDUCATION:
Don’s
bachelor degree from UCLA is in Accounting and General Management.
He received his JD from the UCLA School of Law. Don was given a
Ford Foundation Fellowship to attend the University of Chicago
School of Law, where he was awarded a Master of Law degree. Don
is fluent in French. EXPERIENCE: Mr. Scher practiced law in Los Angeles and Orange
Counties, representing publicly and privately held businesses,
individuals and business clients with matters involving mergers
and acquisitions, securities, corporations, franchises, real estate,
finance, partnerships, contracts, general business and estate planning. Don closed his California practice, and purchased
a manufacturing business in Phoenix, where he had 60 employees,
bank and SBA financing,
and a variety of marketing and management challenges. After making
this business profitable, he became an
accomplished
real estate developer. Thereafter, he engaged in a business management
and real estate consulting practice. In 1990, a bankruptcy lawyer asked Don to be “of
counsel” to
his Phoenix law firm, and to represent all business clients. Thereafter,
Don opened his own offices. His practice
emphasized matters involving businesses, new entity formation,
contracts, finance, real estate and elder law. Elder law includes,
wills, trusts, estate planning, probate and trust administration,
guardianships and conservatorships, and family members fighting
over money. The same principles apply to protecting business owners
as those to protect individuals and families.

9th Circuit Court and the United
States Supreme Court. Don is a
